About

Peter Rhoades Photography focuses on nature photography in and around the UK.

Peter Rhoades grew up in the countryside where his passion for nature photography was born. Peter has been able to feed his fascination of nature and landscape by working as an arboriculturist in Surrey and the surrounding area for the past 20 years where he has been a visionary in his efforts to preserve the wild and scenic areas that he worked in. During this time his interest in nature and photography developed into an obsession. As his knowledge of nature grew, so did his desire to be able to record and educate through imagery the beauty and fragile nature of our environment thus creating the catalyst for the transition from arboriculturist to photographer.

Working with wild animals in their natural habitat without them being aware of his presence is Peter’s specialty. It is this intimacy to the subjects that runs as a theme through his work, enabling him to capture the raw and honest moments of wildlife and of the surrounding countryside.

Peter shares this passion and intimacy with other nature lovers through the sale of his photographs and through his specialised workshops. Through his workshops Peter shares his photographic skills and intimate knowledge of the countryside with amateur photographers to enhance their techniques and understanding of what makes a good photograph become an exceptional photograph.
